Training for student volunteers of Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC)
Vidya Social Empowerment Centre (VSEC) is an initiative of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT) to serve as an umbrella body to coordinate the activities and to provide direction for the further strengthening of several social outreach programmes of VICT. The VSEC organised a three-day training programme for the student volunteers of the Centre during 20 – 22 May 2021. The members of Sameeksha, the Vidya Trainers Club, served as the resource persons for the training programme.
- The session on the first day was handled by Mr. Alex Chacko (AP, ME Dept). Mr Alex talked about “Leadership Qualities” which helped the students in understanding their potential. Mr Ramesh K V (Asso Prof, Physical Education), coordinator of the day, proposed the vote of thanks.
- On the second day, the session was handled by Ms Lakshmi N S (AP, PE Dept). She made a presentation on “How to give an online presentation”. Ms Jiji P J (AP, Applied Sciences Dept) delivered the vote of thanks.
- The session on the third day was on “Communication Skills”and it was handled by by Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept). Ms Veena T T (S4 MCA) proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Salkala K S (AP, MCA Dept) was the coordinator of the third day of the programme.
On all the three days, several activities were included to make the sessions lively and interactive. Videos and images displayed to the participants made the sessions quite interesting to all the students. On an average, 43 out of 51 student volunteers attended the three-day programme. Ms Lakshmi N S (AP, PE Dept and R&D Associate of VSEC) was the overall coordinator of the programme.
