GIS survey by NSS volunteers in Choondal Gramapanchayath

On 20th and 21st November, the NSS units of Vidya conducted a GIS survey in Choondal Gramaanchayath area. The Android app GIS MGNREGA KERALA was used to conduct the GIS based survey for planning. Proper guidelines were given to the volunteers before the survey. Volunteers were split into different groups and assigned different wards in the area during the survey. Group members visited each and every home in the ward assigned to them and collected required details. The details collected by volunteers include requirement of bio-gas plants, well recharging, composting etc. Survey started at 9 AM and ended by 5 PM on each day. More than 150 volunteers participated in the survey on both days.
