Each type of tea has a different taste, smell, and visual appearance but tea processing for all tea types consists of a very similar set of methods with only minor variations. The various processes include Plucking, Withering / wilting, Disruption, Oxidation, Fixation, Sweltering, Rolling / shaping, Drying, Aging / curing and Sorting were well explained and demonstrated by the resource person.
The group tutors, Mr Anilkumar K R (Asso Prof, ME Dept), Dinil Babu (Asst Prof, ME Dept), Ms Bittu Lambi (Asso Prof, AS Dept) and Ms Vidhya V (Asst Prof, AS Dept) led the visit.
