Vidya loads with a nostalgic flicker ‘Thirike – 20 years of friendship‘ with first batch of Alumni (2003-07)
Meeting old friends and teachers after many years definitely is a stunning experience. Every Vidyite coming out of Vidya shall be an active, erudite and responsible citizen. Vidya provided a perfect space for all the alumni to rekindle the student in them and celebrate together christened ‘Thirike – 20 years of friendship‘ under the auspices of Association of Vidya Alumni (AVA) on 27 August 2023 in Pranavam College Auditorium.
The event commenced with a reverent prayer by Arunima M Sarath. Mr Ajin Aravind (Joint Secretary, AVA) welcomed all attendees with warmness and brevity. Dr Saji C B (President,AVA&Principal,VAST) delivered the presidential address. In his insightful speech, he shared his wisdom and perspective on the occasion. Dr P Prathapachandran Nair (Former Principal,VAST) inaugurated the event. Mr Varghesse Tharakan (Director, Ayur Jack Farm) and Er P K Asokan (Chief Patron,VICT) made a special address on the occasion. Mr Thilakan K K (EC Member,VICT) launched the Dubai chapter of the Association of Vidya Alumni.
The event witnessed the Launch of Association of Vidya ECE Alumni that supports aspiring Electronics and Communication Engineering enthusiasts, financially, academically and professionally to ensure a successful future. Dr Jeeva K A (Asso Prof, ECE Dept) officially launched the Association of Vidya ECE Alumni. Dr Sudha balagopalan (Dean academics), Er G Mohanachandran (Honorary Advisor & Non-Executive Director, VICT), Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director) Dr Sunitha C (Vice Principal, HoD, AIML Dept) and Dr Dileep K (former HoD, PE Dept) reminisced their memories.
The event also recognized the staff members who have reached milestones of service in supporting students and for their efforts to enhance the growth of institution. They were honored with a ‘memento and jackfruit sapling from Ayur Jack Farm) flowers as a token of love. The staff members also draped with a ‘Ponnada’ totaling a sense of appreciation to ‘Thirike’.The event also carried together the most ambitious and innovative entrepreneurs among to share their ideas, experiences, and knowledge. In the Open Discussion session, all the attendees unanimously opined that both the ends that include the institution and AVA shall work hand in hand to help each other for achieving the goal to make Vidya a more comprehensive community. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Fetsy K Francis (AVA Secretary & Asst Prof, ECE Dept).
