Work Readiness Training Program through KKEM
A three day Work Readiness Program (WRP) training was provided to the students of the 2024 graduating batch under Government of Kerala initiative Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM). The overall aim of the Government of Kerala is to provide 20 lakh jobs for the youth in the State of Kerala. Kerala Skill Express is a special scheme under the KKEM initiative through which job opportunities are being provided exclusively for the students graduating in the year 2024.
Work Readiness Program is a grooming module with an aim equip the students to be ready to face interviews, participate in group discussions, to prepare their resume and covering letters, etc. Besides the essential theory the focus here was to take all the participants through the hands-on process, one-on-one experiential learning. All classes began with an ice-breaker session and had topics on goal setting and SWOT analysis. Thus, once the students undergoes these practical training, he or she would be sufficiently confident to face the recruitment process of various companies.
Besides the work readiness program there are several modules like robotic interview, counselling test, counselling session, language modules, etc. It is essential that the final year students undergo each of the modules so that they could be eligible to be certified and thereby eligible for Kerala Skill Express scheme. 275 final year students registered for this program and attended the three day orientation program held at the campus between the 24th of November 2023 and 26th of November 2023. Specially trained trainers under Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP) were deputed to the campus who provided the orientation to the students.
