Vidya NSS units win first prize in National Voluntary Blood Donors Day Reels Competition

To promote awareness about blood donation, the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Government Medical College, Thrissur  organized a series of competitions. The event featured various contests, including a Tagline Competition, RaktMitra Quiz, Reels Competition, and Poster Competition on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donors Day 2024. These competitions were aimed at encouraging creativity and spreading awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation.

The Reels Competition, a key highlight of the event, saw enthusiastic participation from NSS units of  Vidya. The reels created by the NSS volunteers, under the theme “Importance of Blood Donation,” won the prestigious first prize. The reel was appreciated for its creative approach and impactful message.

The talented cast of the winning reel included actors Ishfaq (S5, ME Dept), Farzeena (S5, CE Dept) Naveen, Arjun (S5, EEE Dept)  and Adianath. The editing was expertly handled by Anjay (S5, EEE Dept)  and Arjun, (S5, EEE Dept)   while Aruna (S5, CSE Dept) provided the voiceover. Aslam (S5, ME Dept)  was responsible for the costumes, adding to the professional quality of the production.

The program was meticulously coordinated by the NSS Volunteer Secretaries and Rudhirasena coordinators Aswin P Prakash S5, EEE Dept)  , Aljin S5, EEE Dept) and Frijo Antony S5, EEE Dept) who ensured the smooth execution of the competition. The guidance and mentorship provided by the faculty coordinators, Mr. Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer, Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst  Prof ME Dept), and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer, Asst  Prof, CSE Dept) were pivotal to the success of the initiative.

The victory in this competition reflects the dedication of the NSS units at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology.
