Vidya to celebrate National Technology Day
It was a proud moment for all Indians, when India conducted a series of five nuclear bomb test explosions at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range on 11 May 1998. That day, 11 May 1998, being a defining moment in the growth of technology prowess of India, was christened as National Technology Day by the then Prime Minister of India Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Since then it is being celebrated every year as National Technology Day across the country by various scientific and industrial organizations and educational institutions.
This year Vidya is celebrating the National Technology Day on 11 may 2019 with a host of programmes. A team under the leadership of Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Dean-Academics, is working tirelessly to make the celebrations a memorable one. Other than talks by eminent scientists/engineers, one of planned events is a Project Expo for final year B Tech students with the theme “Challenging Waste and Wastage of Resources with the Help of Artificial Intelligence” and a second one is a Thesis Competition (students studying in the final year of the B Tech programmes in circuit branches can participate) with the theme “How to Write a Good Thesis”. The events are sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).
