COVID 19 threat: College closed for the month
The whole world is in the grip of an unprecedented health crisis: COVID 19, a pandemic, has already killed thousands and affected lakhs of people in different parts of the world. In an effort to contain and control the spread of the virus in Kerala, Kerala Govt has taken several unusual steps including the closure of all educational institutions in the State. This step was taken to ensure that people do not gather in large numbers as such gatherings were likely to help the spread of the disease. Following the directive, Vidya has been closed till the end of the month. However, as per the Govt directive, the faculty and staff of the College are attending College and they are engaged in experimenting, learning and developing online teaching and learning materials.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has officially characterised the recent outbreak of COVID 19 as a pandemic. A pandemic is a disease epidemic that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents, or worldwide.
